Brendan and I joined LL about the same time and, as another Celt, it was a pleasure to hear his Scots accent and be in his company on my first visit to Sutton. Stella may remember her and Brendan's first visit to the Bristol area before LL moved there. I took Brendan to a pre-breakfast swim in Portishead outdoor pool. Afterwards he told in his distinctive style, to anyone who would listen, of barely surviving the experience. Yes Brendan was a great character and will be missed by former colleagues who have been able to stay in touch with him. To Stella and the family I am saddened by the news, and send my condolences.
